Stuart L. Scott
retired on January 1, 2005 as Chairman of Jones Lang
LaSalle Incorporated, the world’s leading real estate
services and investment management firm with approximately
9,000 employees based in more than 100 key markets on five
continents. He remains an advisor to the LaSalle
Investment Management Executive Committee and the firm’s
global investment partnerships and funds.
Mr. Scott received the
distinguished “Real Estate Executive of the Year” award in
1999 during the Commercial Property World real estate
conference in New York. He was the recipient of the 2004
Urban Land Institute Lifetime Achievement Award.
Experience
Throughout his more than
31-year tenure with the firm, Mr. Scott served in numerous
executive positions, including Chief Executive Officer for
the last 12 years. Mr. Scott was responsible for shaping
the vision, business objectives and growth strategies of
Jones Lang LaSalle, the industry’s single-source provider
of comprehensive global real estate services.
Positions
Mr. Scott served as
Chief Executive Officer of LaSalle Partners, where he led
the firm’s rapid growth, initial public offering in 1997,
and aggressive merger and acquisition program culminating
in the 1999 merger of LaSalle Partners and Jones Lang
Wooten. He was the first Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of Jones Lang LaSalle until 2002. He began his
career at LaSalle Partners as President of the Development
Division. Prior to joining the firm in 1973 he was an
attorney for the Securities and Exchange Commission and a
member of the Board of Directors of Arthur Rubloff &
Company.
Education and
Affiliations
Mr. Scott is a graduate
of Hamilton College and Northwestern University School of
Law. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of
the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, where he was
Chairman of the Board for seven years; a Charter Member
and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hamilton College
in Clinton, New York; and a member of the Board of
Trustees of the Lyric Opera of Chicago. He also serves as
a Director of Hartmarx Corporation and LaSalle Hotel
Properties. Mr. Scott holds memberships in the Economic
Club of Chicago and the Commercial Club of Chicago. |
